12.09.09-STUDIOWHITE my professional site (where I do work that permits me time and money to draw funnybooks that are serious) is alive and kicking. I'll slowly be phasing parts out I think as I add more content here in the next few months. As for this site I'm still working on a frontpage overhaul and some new regular content. My latest book THINGS UNDONE is still garnering some nice praise and you can see what all the fuss is about here at NBM Publishing . Somebody shot a video interview with me here when I was at the Alternative Press Expo. It's a little rough around the edges but it has its charm.

"At its best Things Undone has the feel of an updated Edgar Allan Poe tale, with Rick serving as an unreliable narrator for whom a conversation with the Easter Bunny is as real as one with his boss."
— Sarah Boslaugh of Playback: Stl

11.08.09-Did I ever mention I have a professional site? Well it's to say that it serves a different profession, like video games and film: STUDIOWHITE is what I do for the bulk of my income. Hopefully someday comics will change that. And for starters you can pick up my latest graphic novel THINGS UNDONE here at NBM Publishing .

REVIEW EXCERPT OF THINGS UNDONE FROM BOOKLIST:

"This indie graphic novel has high appeal, especially for Rick’s peers—the young and hip who aren’t as
sure of their interpersonal worlds as of their artistic ones. The fantasy element of Rick’s gradual
zombification is slyly funny without becoming grotesque."

— Francisca Goldsmith

10.28.09-If you haven't noticed, I updated the look of the place a little. Thought it would help my focus as I move onto new projects that will be worked on for the next year or two. I'd love to really revamp the site to better suit my needs but I don't have the kind of time and inclination to make it as a web architect. I am looking into a couple alternative ideas in the next few months. I just need to drill down into the documentation to see if it can do all the things I want. In the meantime you can still pick up my latest graphic novel THINGS UNDONE here at NBM Publishing . I'll post some review snippets when I get a chance. It's been warm and fuzzy!

* NOTICE TO FIREFOX USERS: For some reason when viewing my galleries with the latest viewer no images show up. If you click forward and back it will. I don't know how to fix this yet. But who knows...I may be changing the usability of this site soon. Stay Tuned!

10.20.09-Hi, I'm back from the Alternative Press Expo where I had a good time as usual. The show was a little slow but that seems to be the current trend with the past several shows I've done. At least it's the last one of the year for me. I'm hoping to scale back considerably next year so I can focus on new work. If you haven't already you can purchase my new book, THINGS UNDONE here at NBM Publishing. It's been getting some rather nice reveiws all over the place. :)

09.29.09-Read a nice review my book THINGS UNDONE at Comics Bulletin. Read the first 11 pages here. And if you're so inclined... you can purchase my book here at NBM Publishing.

09.23.09-Seriously I'm not asleep at the wheel. I just got back from the Windy City Comicon where my book THINGS UNDONE from NBM Publishing debuted. And today you can finally get it in your local comic shop. If you need to find a shop near you go to this COMIC SHOP LOCATOR. Or if you're a really patient person like me you can wait until November to get it in most fine bookshops.

07.30.09-And I'm back from the San Diego Comicon. Had a good time overall and it was a bit more relaxing since I was last there. I was at the NBM Publishing booth on Friday and Saturday handing out advanced booklets of my new OGN THINGS UNDONE. Apparently COMIC BOOK TATTOO won for best anthology at the Eisners this year! In honor of that I uploaded the rest of the pages from the story my wife and I worked on, Devils and Gods.

07.07.09-Hi. Been busy on all kinds of fun art though everything I've been posting has been on my blog. I did get an interview with Zack Smith up on Newsarama though. In a few weeks and some change I'll also be at San Diego Comicon. It'll be a blast I'm sure. Stop by the NBM Publishing booth on Friday and Saturday and check out the advanced copies of THINGS UNDONE.

06.01.09-I'm back and some things are a-changin'. So if you haven't picked up THE OVERMAN trade paperback you're missing out on a good thing. We included a lot of extras including 20 years of notes, art, and covers. Also up is my new graphic novel coming out in August from NBM Publishing called THINGS UNDONE. You can follow my blog entries for it here.

01.09.09-Hey look most of us made it to 2009, woo-hoo! Sadly a few of us did not, boo-hoo. I hope good times are ahead for everyone and we keep our wits about us. In the meantime I have this here interview thing at the COMICS CAREER blog. Also =THE OVERMAN= trade paperback cover can be seen here. This is scheduled for an April 11th ship date from Image Comics. I've been sneaking bits of art here and there about my upcoming OGN, THINGS UNDONE. More will be announced when the time is right.

12.05.08-A few items of note worth mentioning. If you haven't picked it up already, COMIC BOOK TATTOO has a story by my wife and I based on the TORI AMOS song, "Devils and Gods". Also HAWAIIAN DICK #5 is on the stands with a story by B. Clay Moore and myself. Originally it was slated for #6 but it got bumped up in the process. More news to come in the next few weeks too!

06.13.08-I added 4 more illustrations under the Covers and Pinups gallery. They were the primary direction I wanted to take the covers for my first graphic novel NORTH COUNTRY.

06.04.08-I added another illustration under the Covers and Pinups gallery. Also...if you want to check out some of my commercial work...STUDIOWHITE.COM is up and running with the bulls...though I'm still working out some bugs.

05.22.08-I expanded the ILLUSTRATION section splitting it into two categories (for now!) one is Covers and Pinups and the other includes a fun project called Adventure Boys.

05.18.08- Welcome to SHANEWHITE.COM! After a couple years of silence I'm back. The last site was intended to be incredibly easy to update and simply stylish. It amounted mostly to poor navigational control and simplemindedness.

Sadly after about a year I gave up and hadn't been back to it since. I was knee-deep in THE OVERMAN project and well...it was an all-consuming thing. Anyway, onward and upward.

To give you an idea of what this site will be; it's just like every other site. Though to clarify it'll be a formal dumping ground for new work. I'll still have my Sketch Blog that I'll probably update more frequently, and even point people back to here for updates.

Meanwhile this will be hopefully dense with all the goodness that I'm currently working. On top of that I'll have another commercial site...STUDIOWHITE.COM. That one will be updated in the interim even less frequently...but it'll have entertainment industry related work on there that is not nearly as funny or arty as on here. Less personal...more professional. Okay...now that's over with...enjoy!
